They never change the numbers a calculator produces, the order we show things, or what you pay. Affiliate links are always labelled, and our calculators stay neutral and accurate regardless.
1. What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is an outbound link to a third-party product or service where, if you go on to sign up or buy, that company pays us a referral fee. It is one of the ways a free site like this covers its costs, alongside the Google AdSense placements described in our Privacy Policy.
2. How we mark them
Every affiliate placement carries a clear line such as "Partner link — we may earn a commission if you sign up. It never changes
your result or what you pay." Technically, affiliate links use a
rel="sponsored" attribute and route through a
salarygrid.uk/go/… redirect so the destination is transparent. Plain
editorial links to our own tools and guides are not
affiliate links and carry no such label.
3. Our promises
- Accuracy first. The figures every calculator produces come from our own tax engine and are never influenced by any commercial relationship.
- No pay-to-rank. We do not reorder, hide or bias results, tools or guidance based on who pays us.
- No extra cost to you. An affiliate link never makes a product more expensive than going direct.
- Relevance only. We only place a partner where it is genuinely relevant to the page you're on.
4. Regulated products (mortgages, pensions, investments)
Where a partner offers an FCA-regulated product, any promotional wording is provided or approved by that authorised firm, and we present it as general information — not financial advice and not a personal recommendation. Always check the partner's own terms and, where appropriate, take regulated advice before acting.
5. How we count clicks
When you click an affiliate link we record an anonymous, aggregate count — the partner, the type of page the click came from, and the date — to understand which pages are useful. No cookie, IP address or device fingerprint is stored against it; it can't be tied back to you. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy (§3.4).
